A week at the beach

Our first stop was Patong Beach. It is located in the area of Phuket, about 20 minutes from Phuket town which is where most of the ferries and buses go. I chose it because it is on the beach, but I didn't do my researching too well on this one. I was VERY surprised to find out that the only difference between this beach and Myrtle Beach was there were mountains lining the beach. There is even an outlet store near the airport, para-sailing and jet ski rentals off the beach, and many beach chairs and umbrella's available for rent. It was still really nice to be at the beach! Because it is rainy season here the waves are bigger than they usually are and there was a bit of a rip current but not to the point that you couldn't swim.

 Even the Ronald MacDonalds "wai" in Thailand!
