Krabi Town

After we finished in Khao Lak I took the public bus to Krabi Town. It was about a 4 hour trip and I was the only farang on the bus. They played some interesting Thai music and music videos to make the journey more enjoyable haha. It was cool to see all the rubber trees and the houses along the way.

I stayed 3 nights in Krabi town before heading back to Phuket and then Chiang Mai. Krabi Town isn't actually located on the beach...it's on the river. But it is a central place for going to all of the islands off shore.
Here are some pictures of the river front.

Fiddler crabs! Just like the ones near Lucy's and Jack's house.

The first full day I was there I went on a 4 island snorkeling tour.  The snorkeling wasn't amazing because it was raining season but the islands were beautiful. There was also an interesting assortment of farang and Thai people on the tour.

First stop was Poda Island.

The second stop was Chicken Island. This was were the best snorkeling was during the trip.

The "chicken" and reason for the name of the island.

I don't remember the name of the third stop.

The fourth stop was Railay Beach. I went back on Saturday and spent the day here. It is really beautiful and supposedly has some of the best rock climbing in Thailand. I just enjoyed the beach and my book.

This was the boat that took us around for the day.
