Khao Lak - The Beach & Resort

We were incredibly lucky and got to stay at a wonderful resort for four nights! Baan Khaolak Resort was so relaxing and right on the beach.  (In Thai the word Baan means house but the resort is much nicer than any house I have ever seen.) Because Khun Sam used Universal Design when creating is resort there was a lot of thought put into to making things easy to use. There are beautifully laid walk ways connecting everything and the pool as well as a restaurant are right on the beach. There is even a small light house right off the coast. It is rainy season so the waves are bigger than usual. If you walked a little ways down the beach there were rocks a little ways off shore causing them to break further out and leave a nice place to swim. I spent all of my extra time at the beach when we weren't working. If anyone ever goes to the south/beaches in Thailand you should definitely visit Khun Sam and Baan Khaolak Resort!

 The evening after our staff training Khun Sam treated us to dinner at the resort. He tried to show us how the big floating lanterns work, but the rain had other plans. The light weight paper ripped when it got wet so we didn't get to see it fly away. :(
