Wat Jet Yod - The Jungle Book meets Thailand

One of the more popular tourist attractions in Chiang Mai is the many wat's or temples. We have heard a wide variation in the number there are in the city and surrounding area - anywhere from 64 to 300. For our project we are visiting some of the major ones and just providing information about the general layout, bathrooms, and how someone could get around the wat regardless of their disability.

Below is Wat Jet Yod. It is mostly older ruins and reminded me of the Jungle Book. The guide book says it is modeled after temples in India.

After we were done walking around the wat area we went to the information area just to see what was over there. We met 2 monks (one in the background with his phone) and the man that ran the gift shop. They were quite funny with conversations about the difference between "Kate" and "cake" and that we should be Ms. Universe.

Earlier in the day I had caught my skirt on something and it ripped a little in the back. I hadn't planned on worrying about it b/c it was around my calf. But this lady fixed it for me for 60 cents and in about 5 minutes.
